Social Media Toolkit
Texans for Asian American Studies Coalition is an advocacy coalition made up of students, parents, teachers, school leaders, nonprofits, and businesses who seek to advance the inclusion of accurate AAPI studies education into Texas' K-12 curriculum.
Purpose of This Toolkit
To introduce partner organizations and encourage advocates to #LearnOurStories and help drive action at the State Board of Education via social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat. As the State Board of Education finalizes the updated curriculum, it is crucial to radically reimagine an AAPI movement that centers OUR stories and changes what narrative and culture is represented to empower our communities.
How You Can Help
Copy and paste the suggested social media posts, or develop your own customized posts to share out the content.
Add the #LearnOurStories hashtag to your social media posts, and engage with us via your personal or organizational accounts.
Follow @StudentsForAAPIStudiesTX on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram and share their content; be sure to use the #LearnOurStories hashtag!
Upload a photo to Instagram and caption it with one of the suggested captions. NOTE: Instagram does not support hyperlinks in captions. You must add the link into your Bio (Click “Edit Profile” to add a website URL). Then, direct your followers to the link by adding “Click the link in my bio to read all about it!” to your caption.
