OUR VISION

The Learn Our Stories coalition and movement believe that Asian Americans are an integral part of the American story — past, present, and future. Asian American stories, experiences, and identities are inherently American and should be included in our student’s education and curriculum. We believe that inclusive, historically accurate stories and experiences of diverse Texans and Americans will create a better education system for all.

Celebrating Round Rock High School’s Asian American Studies Pilot Course!

In the 2023 - 2024 academic year, Asian Texans for Justice, in partnership with UT Center for Asian American Studies and Round Rock High School, piloted Texas’s first of its kind, year-long Asian American Studies elective course.

To celebrate the inaugural Asian American Studies course, we are pleased to invite you to the students’ end-of -semester capstone project showcase. This event will showcase and exhibit what the students have learned and reflected upon over the course of the two semester course!

Asian American Studies Academy

The inaugural Asian American Studies Academy, in partnership with Asian Texans for Justice, the Center for Asian American Studies (College of Liberal Arts) and Department of Curriculum & Instruction (College of Education), is intended for K-12 teachers to develop a greater understanding of Asian American history and experiences, with a particular focus on Texas Asian American history. The Asian American Studies Academy is fully-funded by a generous grant through The Asian American Foundation which covers hotel, travel expenses, food and professional development with nationwide experts.
